The magnificent 40,350-GRT (Gross Registered Ton) “Encore Class” of ships are the latest ships in the fleet, these being the Seabourn Encore, which commenced her first world cruise from Piraeus in December 2016, and arrived in Sydney on February 1, 2017. She was followed by her new sister-ship the Seabourn Ovation which commenced her maiden cruise in May 5, 2018. However, news has recently arrived that a new and a very exciting new and a revolutionary luxury all-suite expedition ship, and she will debut in June 2021. She has been named the ‘Seabourn Venture’. See Page 6 via the Index at the bottom of the page for full details.

The Encore Class of Ships are …

Re-Defining Luxury-Cruising!

There is no doubt that on these highly rated ships, you will enjoy a sophisticated and luxurious voyage and you will somehow feel as though you have been invited to sail on a private luxury super yacht.

The Seabourn Encore and Ovation offers new elements and innovations that is consistent with Seabourn's reputation for understated elegance. These ships are configured with an additional deck thus there will be new and expanded Guest areas, and the all Suite accommodations is for just 600 Guests and this is based on double occupancy. In addition, every suite will feature a private veranda, which is a first!

The Seabourn Encore and Ovation are as strikingly beautiful and as excitingly innovative as any Seabourn ship will have ever debuted. The newest, the Seabourn Ovation will Crown the fleet which is already the newest, the most modern and acclaimed in the luxury segment. Both ships are an improve version of the award-winning trio of ships that commenced with the Seabourn Odyssey in 2009. However the Seabourn Encore and Ovation represents another and a new stage in the evolution of small-ship cruising that Seabourn has consistently expanded and enriched.

These two sisters will deliver a wealth of new and exciting concepts, delivering a fresh vision and a host of illuminating ideas to delight the world’s most discerning travellers.

Seabourn Ovation is seen at anchor at one of the Mediterranean islands

I am sure that if you have read other pages of the Seabourn feature, you will know of the amazing luxury and the superb dining that is to be had on a Seabourn voyage, thus I will not write anything further here. Instead, I will deliver a preliminary album that Seabourn has prepared and this will provide us with a very good idea of the new ships interiors!

The Grand Saloon:

The ship's main showroom can accommodate all guests, though it seldom does because of the variety available. Lectures, cooking demonstrations, movies and other gatherings are held here in the daytime. In the evenings, live music for dancing before dinner gives way to vocal production shows, cabaret performances, comedy, and classical recitals, as well as more dancing later.

There is fine entertainment, as well as lectures and other events in the Grand Saloon

Seabourn Square:

Our airy, welcoming space combines a gracious library and sitting room, a handsomely furnished computer center, a discreet enclave manned by efficient concierges, and a European Konditorei-style coffee bar with a gleaming espresso machine and a glass-enclosed case filled with tempting sandwiches, scrumptious pastries and colourful gelato.

This is the popular Café serving the best coffee and an array of delicious pastries and sandwiches!

Conveniently located adjacent to the Shops at Seabourn, Seabourn's innovative "living room" even boasts its own comfortable open deck terrace located aft of the Square.

Seabourn Square Living Room is like being the heart of the ship, although there are so many other fine venues on board!

Club Lounge:

From pre-dinner drinks to live music and dancing, The Club Lounge, or just “The Club” will be a sophisticated and inviting lounge as envisioned by design icon Adam D. Tihany. Expanding on his vision, Tihany has employed modern design elements to cast The Club as a bespoke and inviting space. The multifaceted lounge will be arrayed with contemporary seating with yachting references visible in the bar stools, handrail and balustrade; modern illumination from the liquor riser to the table edges; and a bar sized for easy conversation. Adding to the elegant atmosphere, guests will have direct access to the Club Terrace, an intimate exclusive aft pool lounge area set immediately behind The Club. This al fresco space will beckon guests to relax in the plunge pool or either of two whirlpool spas.

Above & below: Here we see the Club Lounge which will be a elegant venue, perfect as a dance venue, but also for relaxation

and having a drink from the beautiful bar where of course there will no additional charge for standard drinks

The Casino:

The Seabourn casino offers a handsome, well-appointed enclave for those wishing to indulge in games of chance and skill. Relax and test the odds on various mechanical games or pit your skills against personable, professional dealers at blackjack or poker tables.

This is not my favourite, but there are those who enjoy some time here and it will be a luxurious venue, typical of a Casino!

Observation Lounge:

This is sublimely beautiful semi-circular lounge that has a square-bar with panoramic views all around. Early Risers’ Coffee and Tea is served here each morning and piano music makes this venue the perfect choice for drinks and conversation before and after dinner.

The Observation Lounge sits high on the ship and far forward of the superstructure, thus allowing excellent views all around!

It is beautifully furnished, with a Bar and drinks can be had there or sitting by the window enjoying the sights

The Restaurant:

The Restaurant is a beautiful fine dining venue. Its menus feature a wide variety of delectable choices prepared to your order by our talented chefs. The Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on an open-seating basis, inviting guests to dine when, where and with whom they wish.

Above & below: The Restaurant is a stunning venue, with high light ceilings with a dome centred and there

Are stunning modern golden chandeliers in the main Dome and smaller ones elsewhere? In addition the

Restaurant is beautifully furnished and this combined with the grand pillars and windows allowing light will

Six seared Scallops. You can almost taste them, just by looking at them!

The atrium commences just aft of the Main Restaurant on Deck 4 and it is eight decks high

being topped by a round sloped glass ceiling, located just forward section of the ships funnel as can be seen on the image below

However, just aft of the beautifully sculptured circular stairwell is the Main Lobby with its four of the ships six Lifts!

Colonnade:

Our slightly more casual alternative offers appealing indoor and outdoor tables for breakfasts and lunches featuring beautiful, bountiful Colonnade buffet, which also offers a selection of à la carte items and daily specials from the kitchen. In the evening find the Colonnade becomes a pleasantly lively place serving regionally themed dinners with full table service.

Above & below: Cruise ships have buffets; the Yachts of Seabourn have the Colonnade

where you will discover the finest dinning anywhere as these images will clearly show!

Exterior Dining:

Our slightly more casual alternative offers appealing indoor and outdoor tables for breakfasts and lunches featuring beautiful, bountiful buffets, plus a selection of à la carte items and daily specials from the kitchen. Evenings find these pleasantly lively spots serving regionally themed dinners with full table service.

Even outdoor dining is elegant with full service

For a refreshing change of pace, dine on deck. Lunches in this casual poolside venue feature an array of salads, pastas, soups and freshly made pizzas, plus hot dogs, specialty hamburgers, chicken and seafood on the grill. Each day, a different themed menu is offered as well. When it is just too nice to go indoors for dinner, settle in for a full menu of salads, soups, sides and grilled steaks, chops, seafood or poultry. Seabourn offers a very high quality cuisine as well as service in a wonderful fully impromptu alfresco setting.

The Patio Bar:

This poolside retreat serves the sun-worshiping guests who gather around the swimming pool and bubbling whirlpool spas. Enjoy full beverage, cocktail and wine service, fruit smoothies and gelato on the pool deck. There is also chilled mineral water spritzes and iced towels offered by the deck crew to refresh guests on warm days.

The Sky Bar:

An alfresco oasis for drinks and socializing overlooking the Pool Patio. With a skilled, friendly bartender preparing everything from fresh fruit smoothies to elaborate mixologist’s masterpieces, its stools and tables are occupied from morning until dinnertime with guests who enjoy good company, open air and a breathtaking view of the horizon.

Above & below: A deck above the pool is the Sky Bar that serves drinks around the upper decks

In Suite Dining:

Around-the-clock menu offers tempting selections anytime. During extended dinner service hours, you can enjoy a complete meal ordered right from that evening’s The Restaurant menu, served for you in your suite or on your veranda.

Dining in your suite can be had any day and it will be a full meal that will be fully served course by course by a steward

The Ships Marina:

Spend a memorable time playing in the sea with fellow guests as the ship is transformed into a private beach resort. Seabourn deploys their water sports Marina at the stern of the ship with a variety of complimentary coloured kayaks, pedal boats and windsurfers. Enjoy an exclusive Seabourn Marina Day by enjoying a sea day without having to leave the ship.

On the lower deck, suddenly a marina opens up and you can head off on any of the facilities available

Caviar in the Surf®:

Explore some of the world's most remote and beautiful beaches whilst the Seabourn crew will stand in warm turquoise waters to serve you caviar and Champagne in the surf. The crew ferries a feast of food and drinks from the ship to shore and creates a festive setting to welcome you as soon as you arrive with drinks, music and delicious barbecue sizzling on the grill.

Whenever there is time on a pristine beach the crew will have buckets of fine caviar and bottles of Champagne in the Surf!

Seabourn to a Tea

Afternoon tea is a tradition steeped in history and, one that has admirably stood the test of time. This inviting, social occasion, is perfect for catching up with friends on the day’s adventures or getting to know someone new. Our version, with white-glove service and live piano music features a range of quality teas and tisanes, all freshly brewed to your order, and a bountiful buffet of both sweet and savoury delicacies to tempt and satisfy every appetite.

These daily specialty teas are yet another unique feature on board a Seabourn Yacht

Sample Tea Selections:

English breakfast Organic: A rich “dawn to dusk” blend of the finest black tea leaves harvested from India, Ceylon and China. Our certified organic version is classic, hearty, yet smooth, and is excellent black or with milk and honey or sugar.

Himalayan Peak Darjeeling Organic: Carefully selected single estate leaves from the Darjeeling region of India yield a subtly fruity and highly aromatic cup. This rounded-bodied classic features a delicate characteristic muscatel finish.

Earl Grey Organic: Organic high-grown Ceylon and China black tea leaves are combined with the smoky citrus notes of Mediterranean bergamot fruit. An elegant, balanced and full-flavoured cup. Regular & Decaffeinated.

Mandarin Rose Petal: Aromatic rose-petals scent this China black tea, which combines delicate lychee fruit and wine essences with subtle chocolate notes to offer a fragrant and visually memorable excursion.

Acai Black Tea: Chinese black tea leaves blended with Brazilian super food Açai (ah-sigh-ee) berries for a fruity, full-bodied brew. With a flavour reminiscent of blueberries and notes of chocolate, Açai berries come from the Amazon rainforest and are known for being rich in omega fats and possess more antioxidants than pomegranates or blueberries.

Premium Oolongs.

Bleu Peacock: This exotic blend of Chinese and fancy Formosa Oolong is a premium tea, offering hints of almond, vanilla and a touch of citrus with a smooth memorable finish.

Classic and Scented Greens.

Jasmine Mist: Layers of jasmine buds naturally scent Chinese green tea leaves for a gently piquant, yet rounded, aromatic cup. During jasmine season, freshly picked blossoms are blended with the downy leaf buds to produce an intoxicating fragrance and delicate elixir.

Green Tea Passion: This fragrant blend of delicate green teas from Japan, China and Taiwan is accented by tropical fruits, including guava, pineapple and strawberry. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and flavonoids that build immunity and reduce cholesterol, Green Tea Passion is an ideal introduction to green tea.

Tisanes: Herbal and Fruit Blends.

Chamomile CitronTM: A unique mélange of Egyptian chamomile, citrus slices, lemongrass, rose hips, hibiscus and mint that brings calm and balance, aids digestion, and is an excellent source of Vitamins B and C.

Organic Mint Mélange: Peppermint and spearmint create a soothing herbal infusion. A balanced and well-rounded cup, this tea captures the cool and pure essence of mint, aiding digestion while it refreshes.

Ginger TwistTM: A signature blend of Australian ginger, orange and lemon slices, lemongrass, mint, papaya, apple, ginseng and liquorice promotes calm, focus and good health with a powerful dose of antioxidants.

African Amber: The African rooibos or red bush makes a vivid and smooth cup blended with hibiscus and exotic fruits of the African continent. Rich in anti-oxidants, it promotes calm and relaxation. Perfect for enhancing a peaceful night’s rest or complementing both savouries and sweets.
