“Emerald Waterways has been operating award-winning River Cruises in Europe since 2014,” said Glen Moroney, owner and chairman of the Australian based Scenic Group. He continued; “The launch of Emerald Yacht Cruises and the stunning new Emerald Azzurra is a logical extension of the Emerald Cruises portfolio.” This magnificent new luxurious and intimate yacht will be cruising locations around the East and West Mediterranean, as well as exciting ports along the Adriatic Coast and discovering the natural and archaeological wonders of the Red Sea to the already existing Emerald Waterways River Cruise offerings.”

The Rhine River Ship the Emerald Dawn

Thus, in 2022, Emerald Cruises brand new, innovative super yacht, the Emerald Azzurra, will welcome her first guests to Europe. With just 100 guests on board, this stylish and luxurious yacht has been especially designed to allow unique access to the fascinating ports and harbours that only small yachts can reach.

Here is an opportunity to head off on a journey that will be far off the beaten track and along timeless trade routes, on board Emerald Cruises bespoke super yacht, the Emerald Azzurra. During your cruise you will discover some of the oldest communities to have ever existed and explore the crystalline waters connecting stunning island groups as well as uncovering the mysteries of Israel, the Holy Land.

M.Y. Emerald Azzurra

The brand new 5,500 GRT Super Yacht the Emerald Azzurra is 110 meters or 360 feet in length, yet she will accommodate just 100 guests in 50 magnificent Suites and Staterooms, which is around half the capacity of Scenic’s very first ocean going cruise ship, the “Scenic Eclipse” and Scenic Eclipse II. Unlike the Scenic Eclipse’s, the Emerald Azzurra will not have a polar-class hull for she will be operating in a warmer climes style cruise operation over a 12-month calendar. The ship is staffed by 68, fully qualified English speaking crew.

Emerald’s first ocean going cruise ship will feature six cabin categories all having been carefully designed to provide a modern feel, with ensuite bathrooms and every possible luxury touches expected of a world-class super yacht. Almost 90% of the accommodations will feature private balconies. Cabins will range from the 18-square-metre lead-in Oceanview Stateroom (without balcony), to the top-of-the-line 110.8-square-metre Owner’s Suite.

However, it’s not just about luxurious accommodations and large spaces, but it is about the many other amazing amenities on this remarkable yacht.

The luxurious Motor Yacht (M.Y.) Emerald Azzurra will be visiting ports just like this!

Consistent with Emerald’s river cruise venue names, the Horizon Lounge and Bar will be located on the Emerald Deck and serves as the ship’s main hub. On the same deck, you will find Reflections Restaurant that will serve all meals and it offer 130 seats indoors as well as a further 48 seats out on the Terrace aft. An Observation Lounge is located far overlooking the bow of the ship and open onto Emerald Azzurra‘s viewing platform, but one of the ships big attention-grabber is without a doubt the infinity-edge pool and cafe on Deck 6, aptly named the Pool Deck.

The top level of the Emerald Azzurra is the spectacular Sky Deck and it feature a spa area as well as a spectacular Bar, which will be a hit with Australian cruise passengers both during the day, at twilight and at night.

The ship has every possible facility, including a spa with treatment rooms, a gym a hairdresser and a shop. Two elevators (lifts) reach all decks of the ship, from Wellness Deck all the way to Sky Deck.

Due to her smaller size, the Emerald Azzurra will be able to access smaller, more off-the-beaten-track ports that other cruise ships are too large for. The super yacht will still visit all the major ports such as Rome (Civitavecchia) and Barcelona, but will dock in the centre of smaller ports, such as Bonifacio, Corsica; Port Vendres, France; Fiskardo, Greece; Port Ercole, Italy and Piran, Slovenia. In these ports, guests will be free to explore the town at their leisure with no set itinerary, and fresh produce will be sourced from local markets and served onboard the yacht.

On shore, guests will enjoy included EmeraldPLUS cultural experiences, a range of included EmeraldACTIVE excursions, and have the opportunity to book DiscoverMORE optional excursions to tailor their cruise.

Guests will have access to a special marina platform for a variety of activities, including paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. The ship will offer three tenders and two zodiacs for shore landings.

The Emerald Azzurra was being custom-designed to cruise the waters of the Adriatic Coast, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, offering guests an intimate, boutique yachting experience. This luxury yacht will call on multiple ports in Greece, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, France, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, Spain, Israel, Jordan and Egypt. As well as exploring the major highlights in these regions, guests will also have unique access to the smaller ports and harbours only accessible generally by small yachts, giving them the freedom to explore the authentic local towns and villages off the beaten tourist track.
